Alman Marpol- PSC müfettişleri tarafından hazırlanan raporda, geminin bekletilme sebebi olarak, ZEYNEP KIRAN'ın inşa edilirken bazı eksiklikler yapıldığı ve bunun inşa döneminden kaynaklandığı öğrenildi.
Kıran Holding yetkilileri ise, geminin tutulmasının geminin yönetim veya fiizksel yapısından kaynaklanmadığını ifade ederken, bu konuda Denizcilik Müsteşarlığı kanalıyla Paris MoU'ya itirazda bulunacaklarını ifade ettiler.
Bu arada ZEYNEP KIRAN'ın tutulması ile birlikte, Paris Memorandumu çerçevesinde Avrupa limanlarında tutulan Türk bayraklı gemi sayısı 13 oldu.
